ACK Media provided the storyboards and character references for the animation while TIS was given the responsibility of bringing to life the characters through fresh poses and beautiful backgrounds. ACK Media approached TIS with the requirement for an animated series on famous characters from Indian mythology and history. Amar Chitra Katha (or ACK) comics, founded in 1967, are one of India's largest selling comic books, with over 90 million copies sold in 20 Indian languages.
